I Know, I Know... (YGTBFKM)... I Bought Another Bike...

                                                        Picture
Ya see... the thing is... my  former 1150 was just too big for me. Think of it this way; if you know anything about horsies... That 1150 I bought back during the summer was about 17 hands high, and I'm a 15 hands guy. I had too much bike, and too little height. Before you all get on my case about this and tell me I 'shoulda' checked that out before I bought it... I know, I know... my wife has already mentioned that to me several times.

SO... I went down to my local, Las Vegas BMDubya dealer and actually RODE several bikes. Shazammm.... I found one I liked and can ride. It's an F650GS (twin); -- put another way, it's a 377 pound motorsickle with an 80 horsepower engine, a six-speed transmission, and is 'rideable' to normal folks like me.  -- Once I rode it, I knew it was the one for me.

So... like any normal human being, I went down to Phoenix, Arizona (actuallly, Chandler) and bought one.

                                                        Here it is...

                                                        _______________________________________________

You're not going to believe this... (I bought another motorsickle)

                                                        Picture
I know, I know (shakes head), - "WTF?" Right? - believe me, it's a valid question. Ya see, the thing is... this one is purtier than the first one. I call her "Hanna." Not sure why, it just seems to fit.  - Take a look and see what you think.

(Anyone interested in buying a used, black, Honda Motorsickle?  (Gulp...)

Uh... I'm open to a question, or three...

So, I bought this motorsickle... (yeah, yeah... I know how it's spelled)

                                                        Picture
Now, the thing is... practically NONE of my family and friends wanted me to buy this thing. With all that encouragement, I decided to get one. Ya see, I have an actual "bucket-list", and ON that bucket-list it sez I'm sposed to ride my motorsickle around the perimeter of America.

So, I figured it would be easier if I bought a bike and learned how to ride it. (I actually DID have a couple in my mis-spent youth; so they're NOT that unfamiliar to me.) AND... my mis-spent youth was only a few years ago... so, I'm sure I can still ride one.  Right?? (That's what I thought too... thanks for the encourgement.)

Here's the bike, it's a 1985 Honda Shadow, VT-500 (got that?) - I've got to do a little work on it, "refresh" it a little, you might say... I got a new 'battry', new plugs, new 'gas-thingy', new carbs (they'll be here this week), new fluids (oil/brake/tranny/ 'n stuff) - I'm thinking of gettin' new 'tars' - It wont be long though, before I'll be doing junps on this baby... Who wants to go for the first ride with me? - If you're the right gender, you can be my... uh... what is it? "Biker-butch?", "Biker-batch?" (something like that...)   --  I'll keep y'all posted on my progress. (zoom-zoom...)

Good lookin bike (for a trainer). Can I be your biker bitch? Ha! I think you should take the 500 on your perimeter tour, that would take a real man! You're gonna love gettin back in the saddle Tommy Boy! Knees in the breeze! (btw, get a windshield for that thing, you aint 21 anymore.....)  - Tom Sorensen, Omaha

Tom: "Practically none" is your code for "Not a single blankin' person in the cosmos." I just got me a 2011 VW Sportwagon to replace the '05 Hyundai Tucson which had given good and loyal service and was tard. That is my code for "I was tired of it and was lookin at tars and brakes and alreddy put in a battry and you don't know what all." -- Enjoy your toy and don't blankin' die. - Fr. I would have to be stoned to get one that thing with you, and I know you would not advocate for me to get stoned.  How many training wheels do you have?? - Tommy Ellis, Vero Beach, Florida

When my father in law turned 65 he decided to buy a used motorcycle. Guess he never quite grew up. Within a week he had crashed it into a car, broke several bones, almost killed himself, and injured the person in the car. In the hospital the doctors told him that at his age he was unable to think fast enough to keep control of it considering the speed he was going. Guess we will all find out about your abilities some time soon. Put me into your will now, I would like all of your toys. - Randy Hartge, Omaha, Nebraska
(Note to Randy... I aint your father-in-law, but I was over at yer Mom's house the other day.)
