Pork Belly Ventures
-- Pork Belly
Ventures (PBV) is operated by the brother and sister
team of Tammy Pavich and Pete Phillips. They’ve been
providing R’brai service for 20+ years; and have
even ridden Ragbrai a time or two, -- (so they KNOW
what a rider wants and needs). PBV provides rides to
and from both ends of Iowa, week-long support, i.e.,
taking all your “stuff ‘n junk” ahead of each day’s
ride; and... LOCATING A GOOD CAMPSITE W-I-T-H
SHOWERS!!, and near FOOD. Equally important,,, PBV
provides a sense of “family” – (trust me, it makes
difference when you ride all week)
John-Titor.com -
Are you troubled
by Terminator-"esque" fears of nuclear Armageddon?
Worried that our national political division --
right vs. left, conservative vs. democrat, rural vs.
urban -- will produce another, and more costly,
civil war? The online postings of John Titor, a
self-proclaimed time traveler from the year 2036,
will do little to assuage those fears. His
predictions will confirm exactly what you've been
dreading: The world, as we know it, is going to end
-- soon. In addition, it's likely you'll die in the
process. In November 2000, messages from Titor began
to appear on Internet discussion boards. He claimed
he'd traveled from 2036, a time in disrepair
following a nuclear conflict that had killed 3
billion people worldwide and that had resulted from
an American civil war between rural and city
dwellers. To provide proof of his predictions and
claims, Titor gave exacting descriptions of his
time-travel technology and even uploaded photos of
the temporal components he'd installed into, of all
vehicles, a 1967 Chevrolet.
Chickenhead.com --
this site is a riot.. his (her?) feature of:
"Bottom50" had me laughing out loud. Check it out.
Paul Thorn.com - I
heard an interview with this guy on the radio
program: "Bob
& Tom". He was a stitch!! Said he wrote a song
called: "I'd Rather Be The Hammer Than the Nail".
He said it came to him one time after he had slaved
away at a furniture factory for 13 years... his boss
told him one day (while sweat was dripping off his
own nose) - "Boy, if you don't start to working
harder, Ah'm gonna haf to let you go."
THEN, he said his girlfriend had cheated on him 151
times, and he just got tired of it and wrote: "I'd
rather be the hammer than the nail". Be sure to
listen to the MP3 of it.
Coast to Coast
- "CoasttoCoast-AM",
replaced the Art Bell, late-night radio program when
Art retired about three years ago. It's now hosted
by a pleasant-voiced guy by the name of George
Noory, (formerly of St. Louis.) Noory continues in
the Art Bell tradition of interviewing guests who
have an "unusual" position. As an example, Richard
Hoagland, PHD, former NASA employee, who says there
is life on Mars. Or, Major Ed Dames, former CIA
operative, and head of a "Remote-Viewing" spy unit
while he was there. Check out the site, it's
anything, but not boring.
